Archery, Intention, and Inspiration
Murphy became a certified Level Two Archery Instructor with USA Archery in 2014. They have experience with instinctive archery, horseback archery, running archery, and bowhunting. Archery is a part of their spiritual practice and they've been inspired by hunting goddesses such as Artemis and Skadhi from a young age. Murphy shoots regularly to calm their mind and bring a sense of peace to their heart. They are also the founder of the Huntress Intensive weekend, an introduction to safe & ethical deer hunting in the tradition of the sacred hunt.

Shake off the stagnation of late winter by joining us for this indoor archery class! We'll use the spacious studio at The Everything Space to learn the form and technique of the archer, shooting padded arrows with easy-to-draw recurve bows. Archery is a perfect practice to bring quiet to focus to the mind, while maintaining an atmosphere of play and delight. We are going to have fun! Once we've mastered the basic form, we'll add in new challenges and partner exercises to continue out body's learning journey. No archery experience is necessary and all equipment is provided.
We'll open each class with a chance to check in about our physical and emotional state, laying down the burdens of the day so we are open to transformation. We'll also learn from myths about ancient archery deities such as the Greek Artemis and the Norse Skadhi. Throughout the course we will focus on what archery has to teach us about setting intentions and following through.
Our instructor, Murphy Robinson, became a certified Level 2 archery instructor in 2014, and has been teaching archery ever since. The style we will learn is a hybrid between the USA Archery olympic form and instinctive archery. This foundation of skill will serve you well whether your archery goal is recreation, competition, mindfulness meditation, mounted archery, or bowhunting.
This six-class series is most powerful taken as a whole, but you can also join us in these classes on a drop-in basis. The full six-class series costs $120-240 (sliding scale), and drop-in students pay $30 per class.
