Being With:
practices of co-regulation with the more than human world
Saturday October 8th, 1-4pm
with Amanda Franz
Location: Worcester
Cost: $60, with lots of $$ accessibility options
Co-regulation is an innate process of attuning to self and other, as embodied attempt for reciprocal regulation. We resonate with each other, the places and other creatures we are with, hopefully in ways that supportive and nurturing.
As a group, we will briefly learn about our nervous systems and then participate in experiential practices to "co-regulate" with each other and with the land, honoring the aliveness of the hemlock, moss, fungi, crow, wind and more.
Frameworks integrated into the course are polyvagal theory, anatomy of senses and perception, animism (the world is alive and communicative), authentic movement, somatic meditation, forest bathing, and authentic relating.
Logistics:
Classes take place outside so please come prepared for weather.
Locations/directions will be emailed once registered.
Accessibility note: Location requires walking on uneven terrain for less than 1/4 mile. There is one steep incline for a small section of the path. There are not bathrooms or chairs available. Site is located in the forest, on private land, with no public transportation available.
We'll walk together to the site and then begin from there.
Body and Land Time:
In this great listening and building the connection of our bodies and the land, I strongly encourage you to wear whatever gear you need to feel totally comfortable being with the land in whatever way your body calls. Which means, be prepared for rolling around or climbing or sloshing in water, in case that's what your body calls for.
What to Bring:
Cost: $60
Financial Accessibility discounts are freely available for people with financial need.
Discounts are on an honor system in good faith with no application process or other hoops to jump through.
