Oct 4: Fluids: The Origin of Life Oct 11: Bones, Joints and Fascia Oct 18: Organs: Breath and Integration with Amanda Franz We are living ecosystems, held within and constantly in relation to the ecosystems around us. The air we breath, the food that nourishes us and the water we drink, all become a part of us, integrating into our very cells, tissues, and thoughts. As are the patterns of the earth, so are the patterns of our bodies, both full of a profound knowing of aliveness. These worlds of knowing are available to us if we choose to inhabit ourselves differently. Know yourself as bones, breath and blood, ground, air and water.
Using sound and movement explorations, anatomy books and readings, we will listen to what's alive inside of us. Please bring a water bottle and journal. Wear comfortable loose fitting clothing. 10/4: FLUIDS- THE ORIGIN OF LIFE We are born of and into fluids. Our body is 70-80% fluid. Our fluids play an essential role in our life processes. Join us as we explore our fluids and change the way we move. 10/11: BONES, JOINTS AND FASCIA Bones are dynamic, living tissue, continuously shaped by our movement patterns. They hold space between a whole body web of fascia, articulating at individual joints, to create a tensegritous structure that allows us to move in space. Learn it and move it in your own body. 10/18 ORGANS: BREATH AND INTEGRATION Lungs, heart, liver, stomach, kidneys and more; from digestion to breathing our organs facilitate our many life processes. Our soft bellied contents give us power, vibrancy and fullness. Know where they are and hear your "gut instinct" in it's fullness. |
