Let your body lead the way! DANCE/MOVEMENT THERAPY is an alternative and complementary approach to mental health treatment and a way to reconnect to the language of the body. The American Dance Therapy Association defines dance/movement therapy as "the psychotherapeutic use of movement to further the emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration of the individual". My aim is to help clients cultivate a deeper connection to themselves- to their own voice, body, mind, and the unique path they are on. This is a practice of tuning into what is present, listening deeply to oneself, moving and speaking from an internally focused place. I support clients in developing their somatic intelligence and expressing the story that is stored in their skin, muscles and bones. EXPRESSIVE THERAPY is a healing practice that use the arts as its basis for self-discovery and transformation. This could be the next step for folks who are struggling in traditional therapy, for those that are tired of talking in circles or curious about the messages their bodies are sending them. I work with people who need to reconnect to authentic self-expression in their lives. I help clients who are or have been in survival mode to begin to play and integrate beauty into their every day life. Using art, music and dance I support clients who have experienced trauma remember how to ground and re-embody their truths. BODYWORK/MASSAGE THERAPY works with layers of tissue in the body to relax, lengthen and release longstanding holding patterns. It can bring about relaxation of the nervous system and the release of restrictions resulting from accumulated trauma. It is a way of promoting overall health by supporting the body’s natural healing process. I offer massage/bodywork as a way for clients to integrate their body, mind and spirit. I have 20 years of experience working as a licensed massage therapist in Boston and San Francisco. 1000+ hours of training in Shiatsu/Thai bodywork, Deep Tissue massage, Cranio-sacral Balancing. I can help you to disentangle your mind, soothe your aching body and support your bright spirit! |
