Softening Our Roots
About Hazel:
I have been exploring the realms of alternative healing for over 25 years, in particular physical bodywork, energetic healing, herbs and nutrition. Weaving together a passion for dance and earth spirituality with my experiences as an intuitive bodyworker, I am curious about creating different ways to support people into an embodied spiritual connection with the earth. |
Saturday April 6
3:30-6:30pm A 3-hour journey of embodiment practices, movement, art, and sound focused on deepening connection to the root of the body - the pelvis - with a gentle exploration of the roots of disconnection in our culture- namely shame. I believe that what lies at the root of the destructive path of humanity is a severed connection with the earth. Shame has been used as a politico-religious colonizing tactic for thousands of years aimed at disconnecting people from their bodies, the earth and thus their power. The patterns of shame continue to be carried in our bodies, passed on culturally generation after generation. With the rising current of environmental crisis in this particular political climate, there is no better time to dismantle these patterns of enslavement and free ourselves to who we truly are. In releasing shame and creating a shame resilient culture, we can more fully deepen our connection to our bodies. In dropping into deeper embodiment, we have access to our connection with the earth and our power.
